Raytheon's Global Support Network Delivers Operational Availability to the U.S. Army's Future Cargo Aircraft Mission

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Jan. 11, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company's robust worldwide logistics support network will deliver operational availability to ensure the U.S. Army's Future Cargo Aircraft (FCA) is at the right place at the right time, every time, for the warfighter.

"Team FCA's military aircraft has the highest operational availability in its class and provides the lowest cost of ownership," said Jim Hvizd, Team FCA vice president. "That means warfighters can depend on FCA to deliver time- sensitive cargo to achieve their missions in a cost effective manner."

Team FCA, composed of Raytheon, EADS CASA North America and M7 Aerospace, is offering the combat-proven CN-235/C-295 military transport aircraft for the FCA mission.

"Team FCA provides a total system approach to operational availability and quality training through an integrated mission support solution," said David Dacquino, a vice president of Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC, which is leading the mission support solution for Team FCA. "Our team's training program has successfully produced more than 1,600 pilots and 5,500 maintenance technicians certified on the CN-235/C-295 family of aircraft."

FCA is a vital component of Army aviation transformation. When fielded, FCA will provide an organic tactical transport capability for Army units in the field and also for the delivery of important cargo for homeland security missions.

Mission Support is based on an integrated approach to predict customer needs, sense potential problems and proactively respond with solutions so customers can focus on their missions.

Team FCA's logistics support reach includes more than 50 countries and 36 states, including the Army's required support locations. Currently Team FCA has 56 U.S. domestic service centers and a global network of international service centers -- fully meeting the Army's requirements.

With these capabilities, Team FCA is able to provide Mission Assurance wherever the Army deploys its Future Cargo Aircraft. Its solution includes exceptional performance in all aspects of integrated logistics support -- including organizational/depot maintenance operations and facilities, supply chain management, field engineering, technical publications and all aspects of training.

For example, Team FCA is supporting the Polish Air Force's C-295 transports, which are flying airlift missions to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of deployed Polish troops. Team FCA is also providing logistics support to the U.S. Army's C-23 Sherpa, which the FCA will replace, at worldwide locations, including Iraq.
