Raytheon Names John P. Bergeron Director, Raytheon Six Sigma
WALTHAM, Mass., Sept. 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has appointed John P. Bergeron as director, Raytheon Six Sigma, Corporate Mission Assurance. Bergeron reports to Dr. James W. Wade, vice president Mission Assurance, in the company's Engineering, Technology and Mission Assurance organization, headed by Vice President Mark E. Russell.

"John is a strong leader with a proven track record of implementing improvements that achieve business objectives both within and outside Raytheon," Russell said in making the announcement.
As director of Raytheon Six Sigma, Bergeron will be responsible for transforming and revitalizing Raytheon's Six Sigma vision and strategy, including continuous improvement in processes and systems to help deliver world-class performance for the nation's warfighters. Bergeron will also chair the enterprise Six Sigma council and assigned sub teams.
Bergeron joined Raytheon in 2006 after 15 years at General Electric where he held positions of increasing responsibility in GE's field service, quality and operations organizations. As Six Sigma quality leader, Bergeron led the operations integration for a fast growing, $2.2 billion business and drove common processes and business metrics across five acquisitions. His initial Raytheon assignment was with the company's Integrated Defense Systems business where he was the director of the Whole Life Engineering Directorate, a multi-disciplined, customer-focused team of almost 700 employees, structured to provide best value life-cycle management, system support and innovative market solutions.
Bergeron graduated from the University of Vermont with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He has achieved his Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
