Raytheon Missile Systems President Addresses International Education Conference

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company's (NYSE: RTN) Missile Systems President Dr. Taylor W. Lawrence delivered the opening address on the third day of the Education Without Borders conference in Dubai. The biennial international student conference creates networks across cultures to find solutions to some of the world's greatest problems.

Speaking to more than 700 students at Dubai Men's College, Lawrence described how breakthroughs in the aerospace industry have led to widely used commercial products such as microwave ovens and cellular phones. He encouraged the students to stay focused, work hard and follow their dreams.

"Raytheon believes tomorrow's engineers and technologists need to be excited by and interested in math today," said Lawrence. "We developed the MathMovesU® program to help spur interest in math and science. Since its inception in 2005, Raytheon's MathMovesU program has touched the lives of more than 1 million students, teachers and parents."
