Raytheon Advanced Products Center Recognized by the Association of Manufacturing Excellence

Lauded for operational excellence, including commitment to continuous improvement

MCKINNEY, Texas, Oct. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company's (NYSE: RTN) Advanced Products Center was awarded the Manufacturing Excellence Award from the Association of Manufacturing Excellence at a recent conference. The AME recognizes companies that have demonstrated operational excellence with an emphasis on continuous improvement, best practices, creativity and innovation.

This is the third significant award for APC in three years. In 2010, the team won the Quality Texas Foundation's Texas Award for Performance Excellence, the foundation's highest level of recognition. In 2009, APC was recognized as one of the 10 best plants in North America by IndustryWeek magazine.

"The APC team's commitment to continuous improvement has created a championship culture," said Dennis Reed, vice president of Operations for Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems. "Process improvements are key to performance excellence and driving customer loyalty."

The APC was selected for the AME award based on demonstrated results in policy deployment; safety and environmental health; manufacturing and business operations; and extended value stream management, including product development, supplier management, plant achievements and, most important, the ability to deliver on time and on cost.
