Raytheon Demonstrates Key BMDS Sensor Netting and Integration Capability

TEWKSBURY, Mass., Jan. 3, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company successfully demonstrated a key sensor netting and integration capability to the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) as part of an effort funded by the Missile Defense Agency.

The demonstration highlighted the benefits of the Raytheon Solipsys Tactical Component Network (TCN) capability as a sensor netting framework for the BMDS. TCN provides an enhanced capability-based approach to supporting joint interoperability and net-centric operations across mission areas.

Raytheon IDS is the lead for the TCN demonstration, leveraging its expertise in sensor technology and system engineering and integration combined with the TCN technology developed by Raytheon Solipsys to provide a BMDS sensor netting architecture.

Raytheon Solipsys, with headquarters in Laurel, Md., is a business unit of Integrated Defense Systems.
