Raytheon Among Those Selected by U.S. Navy to Provide Nationwide Engineering And Product Support Services

    RESTON, Va., June 9  /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been
selected by Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to provide engineering and
product support services as a SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPorte) prime contractor in
each of the U.S. Navy's seven geographic regions.

    With a ceiling value of more than $28 billion, this 15-year multiple
award, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract has a five-
year base period and two five-year award term options, which would extend the
period of performance through April 2019. The potential contract value to
Raytheon is more than $100 million for the five-year base period ending April
2009.

    Under the contract, Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC (RTSC) will
have the opportunity to provide engineering, technical, logistics and
programmatic support services to NAVSEA, its 12 Product Area Directorates, and
all naval surface and undersea warfare centers and laboratories. RTSC's
program office will be in Portsmouth, R.I., with work performed around the
country as determined by contract requirements.

Company and a nationwide team of over 90 suppliers, including 71 small

and product support solutions to the U.S. Navy anywhere in the U.S."

    The SeaPort Enhanced contract (also known as SeaPorte, Seaport Multiple
Award Contract II, or SeaPort MAC II) is a multiple-award five-year contract
to provide professional support services for the Naval Sea Systems Command's
Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUSC),
headquarters, and its field activities, in seven geographic regions. The range
of services available under this contract potentially spans the entire
spectrum of product areas supported by the Warfare Centers. Services cover the
range of technical skills over the entire life cycle of a warfighting
capability including: research, technology development, concept exploration,
design and demonstration required to introduce transformational technologies
into new or existing surface, undersea and strategic warfighting capabilities;
prototyping and fabrication; test and evaluation; certification, deployment,
life cycle sustainment, operation and maintenance; improvement, modernization,
and overhaul; and demilitarization and disposal.
