Raytheon Awarded $11 Million Option for Patriot Missile Facilities
TEWKSBURY, Mass., March 5, 2009 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company has been awarded $11.4 million to support Patriot missile facilities during 2009.
The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., issued the additional funding as an option under a three-year contract previously awarded to Raytheon in January 2008. This add-on award brings the value of the contract to $35.5 million with potential for additional options through 2010.
"Providing technical personnel and material to support the operation of Patriot missile facilities is a key part of Raytheon's responsibility and commitment to ensure that missiles deployed by United States and our international partners are maintained in a high state of readiness," said Joseph "Skip" Garrett, vice president and deputy for Patriot Programs at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS).
Support under the contract involves technical assistance, reliability testing and data analysis of deployed systems.
Work will be performed by Raytheon IDS at its headquarters in Tewksbury, Mass., and the Integrated Air Defense Center, Andover, Mass.; by Raytheon Technical Services Company, in Burlington, Mass.; and at various overseas locations.
Raytheon IDS is the prime contractor for both domestic and international Patriot Air and Missile Defense Systems and systems integrator for Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missiles.
