Raytheon Awarded $86 Million Option on U.S. Army Live Training Contract
RESTON, Va., Nov. 22, 2004 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a one-year, $86 million option on its Live Training Program with the U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI). The contract option allows the company to continue providing life cycle contractor support services for tactical engagement, instrumentation and range training devices and systems for the Live Training Program. The award is the sixth of seven one-year options under an eight-year contract. The original contract was awarded in 1999 with an initial potential value of $400 million; it has now grown to a potential of more than $900 million. Under the option, Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC (RTSC) will continue providing operations, maintenance, and field engineering services; life cycle sustainment; supply; integration; tactical and operational scenario writing, planning, and exercise control; data collection, training analysis, analysis support, real-time after action reviews, and training device products. The program also provides worldwide instructional and maintenance support of Tactical Engagement Systems. The Raytheon program management office is located in Orlando, Fla., and work will be performed at the National Training Center at Ft Irwin, Calif.; the Combat Maneuver Training Center at Hohenfels, Germany; the Joint Readiness Training Center at Ft. Polk, La.; and at various sites worldwide. The Live Training Program staffs 16 field sites worldwide from its central depot at Pomona, Calif., including Germany, Korea, Italy and Kuwait. Work is expected to be completed by October 2005.
