Raytheon Releases Industry's Fastest Cross-Domain Sharing Solution
System is up to 625 percent faster; reduces hardware costs by 75 percent
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 31, 2009 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon (NYSE: RTN) has released a much faster, more economical version of its powerful High-Speed Guard cross-domain information-sharing solution for government organizations.
Raytheon engineers are demonstrating the third-generation High-Speed Guard this week at the 2009 Unified Cross Domain Management Office (UCDMO) Conference in San Diego. Peak performance has been increased to 5 gigabits per second from 800 megabits per second and costs have been reduced by 75 percent.
Cross-domain solutions distribute information between varied security classification environments, providing effective interoperability and serving as a link to ensure that data maintains sensitivity levels throughout the information-sharing and transmission processes.
High-Speed Guard 3.0 sustains full transfer rate on two processor commercial off-the-shelf servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 with a strict Security Enhanced Linux policy. Additionally, it offers various transfer mechanisms for ease of integration, no matter the sensitivity or size of the payload. It also includes built-in support for Web services utilizing HTTP, and enables real-time video streaming while providing unparalleled control and auditing of video streams through its MPEG2/4 parsing capability.
"This release is the next major step forward for High-Speed Guard," said Steve Hawkins, vice president of Raytheon's Information Security Solutions business. "For more than 10 years, Raytheon has been at the forefront of cross-domain technologies to meet our customers' diverse needs, and we continue to be the fastest Guard on the market."
High-Speed Guard 3.0 successfully passed the first round of certification and accreditation testing with no findings. Raytheon anticipates full accreditation by the end of the year.
