Raytheon Delivers Breadboard Array to U.S. Air Force for Ultra-Wideband Multi- Function Tests

    DALLAS, Dec. 22, 2004  /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company's Space and
Airborne Systems (SAS) recently delivered a small but integral component to
the Air Force Research Laboratory, Sensor Directorate, at Wright Patterson Air
Force Base, Ohio, for demonstrating ultra-wideband (UWB) multi-function array
capability.

    The five-by-eight inch test breadboard array delivered is a UWB phased
array antenna radiating aperture that operates over 2 to 18 GHz, is dual
polarized, and is capable of wide-angle beam scan.  Its leading design and
design process were developed by Raytheon's Advanced Products Center (APC), a
business unit of SAS, as part of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency
Reconfigurable Aperture program.

    SAS provided this Air Force customer solution under contract with Advance
Information Engineering Services, a General Dynamics Company.
