Raytheon Chairman and CEO William H. Swanson accepted the award at the AFA's 2010 Air & Space Conference and Technology Exhibition held recently in National Harbor, Md. Swanson expressed gratitude to the nation's men and women in uniform, military families, and members of the Raytheon team.

In accepting the award, Swanson noted: "This award is named for an airman, government and industry leader who has always exemplified teamwork and a 'can-do' spirit. Established in 1992, the John R. Alison award is AFA's highest honor for industrial leadership. It is named after retired Air Force Maj. Gen. John R. Alison, a highly decorated military aviator recognized as the "father of Air Force Special Operations." Alison served as an assistant secretary of Commerce and president of the Air Force Association.
