Raytheon BBN Technologies Awarded $10 Million to Improve Command and Control Systems
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon BBN Technologies has been awarded $10 million in defense funding to develop technical solutions that will help maintain command and control systems' superiority. BBN Technologies is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN).
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency award, issued under the Resilient Command and Control (RC2) program, is part of an effort to develop technologies for complex command and control information systems. The program goal is to enhance mission assurance through better situational awareness, greater insight into the impact of changes that occur during missions, and adaptive replanning.
John Zinky, principal investigator, Raytheon BBN Technologies, said: "Government operations rely on large-scale, distributed and complex computer systems to complete their missions successfully. Under the RC2 program, we will develop technologies to assess and mitigate the mission-related impact of anomalous behavior in these computer systems regardless of cause. This ambitious program will contribute to maintaining government and military command and control systems' superior performance."
