Raytheon Board of Directors Elects Three New Company Officers
WALTHAM, Mass., May 5, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) today announced that the Raytheon Board of Directors has elected Susan E. Baumgarten, Jon Jones and William J. Lynn to be Company officers.
Baumgarten, 54, is Vice President and Deputy General Manager of Raytheon Technical Services Company (RTSC), responsible for RTSC's growth strategy development and implementation including mission support and business development. She was formerly President of Raytheon International, Inc. where she led the company's efforts in international business development and coordination of international operations. During Baumgarten's 32 years with Raytheon, she has demonstrated her leadership through a progressive series of challenging assignments in systems engineering, business development and program/business management. She received a bachelor's degree in math/biochemistry, a master's degree in electrical engineering and a MBA in finance/marketing, all from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Jones, 50, is Vice President and Deputy General Manager of Raytheon Missile Systems responsible for assisting the business president with oversight of the 40 programs in production and development. Previously, he was Vice President of Missile System's Strike product line with responsibility for the Tomahawk cruise missile, Joints Standoff Weapon (JSOW), Paveway Laser Guided Bomb, High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM), Maverick and Advanced Cruise Missile products and services. Jones has been with Raytheon for 28 years demonstrating his leadership in key assignments of increasing responsibility. He holds a master's degree in engineering management from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Lynn, 51, is Vice President, Government Operations and Strategy, responsible for Company liaison with the executive and legislative branches of the federal government. He also helps direct the development of Raytheon's defense business strategy. Lynn has an extensive background in government service including appointments as Under Secretary of Defense and Comptroller, Director of Program Analysis and Evaluation in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and in senior staff positions on Capitol Hill. Lynn earned a law degree from Cornell University and a master's degree in public affairs from Princeton University.
