GOLETA, Calif., June 26, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has won a $9.3 million follow-on contract to manufacture 10 ALR-69A(V) radar warning receiver systems for the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins Air Force Base, Ga. The system is an upgrade replacement of the ALR-69(V) currently installed on U.S. Air Force C-130, F-16, A-10 and MH-53 aircraft.

The ALR-69A(V) is an all-digital radar warning receiver that provides significantly enhanced situational awareness, improved aircrew survivability, and a solution to current and emerging parts-obsolescence issues. Planned capabilities of the system include advanced tactical targeting techniques. These will enable multi-platform geo-location to provide rapid and accurate passive threat location through multiple aircraft networked to share data.

The new contract calls for delivery in 2007 of the 10 systems. They will be used for installation and test on various airborne platforms. This contract is a follow-on to an August 2001 award of 17 ALR-69A(V) systems. Tests of the ALR-69A(V) digital radar warning receiver are in progress in laboratories and on a C-130 aircraft, with low-rate initial production planned to begin in late 2006. Work on the radar warning receiver system is being done at Raytheon's Space and Airborne Systems business by its Electronic Warfare Systems organization, Goleta, Calif.
