Raytheon Awarded $218 Million Subcontract for LPD 22-24

TEWKSBURY, Mass., June 27, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a contract to provide the electronic systems and integration for the next three ships in the LPD 17 class of ships.

The $218 million subcontract from Northrop Grumman Ship Systems extends Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems' (IDS) current role as the ship electronic systems integrator for the LPD 17 class, the U.S. Navy's newest fleet of expeditionary warfare ships.

"Raytheon provides extensive capabilities to the LPD 17 class of ships through its integrated shipboard wide area network and voice and video systems providing total information solutions for the ship," said Dan Martin, IDS vice president of Maritime Mission Systems. "Raytheon continues to leverage experience gained on programs such as LPD 17, DDG 1000 and CVN 78 to advance the Navy's vision for common capabilities architecture for its family of ships."
