Raytheon's Olive Named One of Computerworld's Top IT Leaders
TEWKSBURY, Mass., Dec. 20, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Steve Olive, chief information officer (CIO) of Raytheon Company's (NYSE: RTN) Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) business, has been selected as one of the top 100 Information Technology (IT) leaders by Computerworld magazine, a trusted source of IT management news for 37 years.
Computerworld's 2006 Premier 100 IT Leaders list honors individuals who have had a positive impact on their organizations through technology. Each year, Computerworld accepts nominations from all across the industry. Eligible nominees include CIOs, chief technology officers, vice presidents, IT directors and managers, and more.
Olive was nominated for this recognition by Dan Smith, president of IDS, and Rebecca Rhoads, vice president and chief information officer of Raytheon Company. "Steve Olive is a leader with laser focus on people, process, product and profit," said Rhoads.
In addition to his role as CIO of IDS, Olive is also vice president of IDS Information Solutions (IS), where he is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to the IDS IS team. In addition, Olive is the university executive responsible for the relationship between Raytheon and Northeastern University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in engineering technology and a master's degree in business administration.
Prior to assuming the position of IS vice president, Olive was director of IT for the Air/Missile Defense Systems business unit at the former Raytheon Electronic Systems, El Segundo, Calif. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of IT that supported the A/MDS business unit. Olive first joined Raytheon in 1987 as a manufacturing supervisor.
Integrated Defense Systems is Raytheon's leader in Joint Battlespace Integration providing affordable, integrated solutions to a broad international and domestic customer base, including the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, the U.S. Armed Forces and the Department of Homeland Security.
