Raytheon Recognized with Two Prestigious Cogswell Awards for Industrial Security
AURORA, Colo., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Two Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) sites have been recognized by the Defense Security Service with the prestigious Cogswell Award for industrial security excellence. Only eight awards were made this year from nearly 11,000 eligible contractors, and two Raytheon facilities in its Intelligence and Information Systems business at Aurora, Colo. and Huntsville, Ala., received this distinction. "We are honored and proud to receive these awards," said Mike Keebaugh, IIS president. "Security is paramount to our customers and our business. These awards serve as testimony to the effectiveness of our security plans and the discipline with which they are implemented." Established in 1966 and named in honor of Air Force Col. James S. Cogswell, the first chief of the united office of Industrial Security, the Cogswell Award is the most prestigious honor for cleared industry. Criteria for the award focus on principles of industrial security excellence, adherence to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP), and setting standards for emulation by other contractors participating in the program. Achieving this distinction requires extraordinary excellence involving a total team effort by top management, the facility security officer and facility workforce.
