Raytheon Network Centric Systems Achieves CMMI Level 5
MCKINNEY, Texas, June 5, 2007 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company's (NYSE: RTN) Network Centric Systems has attained a multi-site Capability Maturity Model Integration® (CMMI) Level 5 rating for systems, software and hardware engineering.
CMMI is a process-improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effectively managing quality while controlling risk. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, sets process-improvement goals and priorities and provides a point of reference for appraising current processes.
The five maturity levels of the CMMI models indicate stages of progressive development in an area. The Level 5 rating, highest of the five, validates NCS' ability to apply a disciplined, flexible engineering process across a broad range of programs.
"We have created a team that can rapidly move work to wherever the engineering expertise exists," said Colin Schottlaender, president of Network Centric Systems. "With our common process architecture, we can design, build and support our customers from any one of our sites with a consistent level of performance that delivers predictable, innovative and cost effective solutions."
NCS locations recognized in the appraisal included: Marlborough, Mass., Fort Wayne, Ind., St. Petersburg, Fla., McKinney, Texas, and Fullerton, Calif.
