Raytheon Facilities Receive Industrial Security Awards
GARLAND, Texas, July 5, 2007 /PRNewswire/ -- Two Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) sites have been awarded the 2007 James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award from the Defense Security Service (DSS).
Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems facilities in Aurora, Colo., and State College, Pa., were selected by DSS.
Established in 1966, the Cogswell Award is the highest honor that the DSS bestows upon cleared facilities. Of the nearly 12,000 cleared contractors in the United States, less than one percent receives the award each year.
"The Cogswell Award is a tremendous honor and is the culmination of focused achievement and embedded partnership between Raytheon employees, management, and industrial security," said IIS President Mike Keebaugh. He added, "We are honored to once again receive this coveted award; it emphasizes our commitment to help government accomplish security objectives that ultimately benefit them."
According to the DSS, the Cogswell Award selection process is rigorous. A contractor qualifies for the nomination only after achieving two consecutive years of superior inspection ratings and by demonstrating the highest level of excellence and innovation in the management and implementation of its security structure.
In addition to the 2007 honor, Raytheon has received additional Cogswell Awards during the last four years:
-- 2006: Network Centric Systems, McKinney, Texas -- 2005: Raytheon Missile Systems, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. -- 2004: Intelligence and Information Systems, Aurora, Col. -- 2004: Intelligence and Information Systems, Huntsville, Ala.
