Note to Editors: Additional Information Raytheon's AN/GPN-22 radar, deployed more than 20 years ago, provides air traffic control personnel accurate navigational information to guide aircraft on approach to a safe landing, during both clear and instrument flight rule weather conditions. The radar set is composed of the radar and associated communications and electronics equipment and external antenna system. It detects and tracks aircraft approaching a runway for landing. The AN/GPN-22 has been in service beyond its originally planned life cycle, and there are presently no direct replacements in existence or in development. RTSC is one of six contractors holding contracts to provide engineering services for the DMEA under ATSP2. With an overall contract ceiling of $875 million, ATSP2 is the DMEA's multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract designed to leverage advanced microelectronics technologies to extend the life of weapon systems. ATSP2 is available to any agency of the U.S. government and approved foreign governments. As an ATSP2 contractor, Raytheon develops advanced technology solutions to support problems such as reliability, maintainability and diminishing manufacturing sources for items that range in complexity from discrete electronics through integrated circuits, circuit boards, modules, assemblies and systems. This support includes studies and analyses, hardware and software development, prototyping, testing, limited production and logistics support. Among the customers that Raytheon currently supports under ATSP2 are the Air Force B-2 System Program Office and the Naval Sea Systems Command.
