Raytheon Awarded Follow-on Advanced Technology Support Program III Contract
RESTON, Va., Oct. 13, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been selected to continue providing engineering services for the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) under the Advanced Technology Support Program III (ATSP3) contract. With a contract ceiling of $4.7 billion over 15 years, including options, ATSP3 is the DMEA's multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract designed to leverage advanced microelectronic technologies to extend the life of weapon systems. As an ATSP3 contractor, Raytheon will develop advanced technology solutions to support problems such as reliability, maintainability and diminishing manufacturing sources for items with varying degrees of complexity, including: discrete electronics, integrated circuits, modules, circuit boards, assemblies, subsystems and systems. This support includes studies and analyses, hardware and software development, prototyping, testing and limited production. Among the customers Raytheon currently supports under ATSP2 are the Air Force B-2 System Program Office and the Naval Sea Systems Command. Raytheon was also a major supplier of engineering services to the DMEA under Microelectronics Technology Support Program, ATSP and ATSP2, the precursors to ATSP3. Raytheon has executed more than 190 delivery orders valued at more than $460 million on the predecessor contracts. Raytheon has been awarded follow-on production contracts on several of the delivery orders. The basic award has an aggregate ceiling of $1.3 billion over five years. Two five-year options can be exercised with ceilings of $1.5 billion and $1.9 billion respectively, bringing the total to 15 years and $4.7 billion.
