Raytheon Awarded $9 Million Option for Patriot Technical Services

TEWKSBURY, Mass., May 1, 2009 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company has been awarded $9 million to support Patriot missile maintenance and facilities in the United States and at overseas locations.

The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., provided the additional funding under a three-year contract previously awarded to Raytheon in January 2008. This $9 million combines with the previously awarded $36 million to bring the value of the contract to $45 million, with the potential for additional funding through 2010.

"Technical services, including missile testing, data analysis, and materiel, are critical to ensuring Patriot systems deployed by the U.S. Army and allies are maintained in a high state of readiness all the time," said Sanjay Kapoor, vice president for Patriot Programs at Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS).

In compliance with the Base Realignment and Closure transition, the contract also provides funding for Raytheon to move Patriot maintenance operations and test equipment from Red River Army Depot, Texarkana, Texas, to Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pa.

Work under this contract will be performed by Raytheon IDS at the Integrated Air Defense Center, Andover, Mass.; at Raytheon Technical Services Company, Burlington, Mass.; and at various overseas locations.
