MARLBOROUGH, Mass., June 9, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a $12.7 million contract to provide Allegheny Power a seamless land mobile radio system that will help improve radio frequency coverage and communications reliability.
Raytheon's P25net digital land mobile radio system solution will also improve standardization and interoperability, which will allow lineworkers to share information and communicate more easily across the company's 30,000-square-mile service area.
"We have about 800 field workers serving 1.5 million customers across parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland. Raytheon's solution provides us with a system that allows for efficient communication during both normal operations and emergency situations," said David W.
