Raytheon Awarded Transportation Security Administration Contract for Aviation Security Enterprise Management Solution

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 11, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC (RTSC), a subsidiary of Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN), has been awarded a $3.7 million contract by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to develop an aviation security enterprise management solution.

RTSC will manage Phase 1 of the TSA's Security Technology Integrated Program (STIP) initiative, to include developing, integrating and testing commercial off-the-shelf and custom software used to exchange data with the Threat Image Projection (TIP) Ready X-ray (TRX) systems. The enterprise management solution will communicate data and images to approximately 1,200 TRX systems fielded at 80 airports across the country. RTSC will also be responsible for training and support.

"The STIP initiative will ultimately provide the TSA with an enterprise management system connecting thousands of pieces of aviation security equipment at hundreds of commercial airports."
